Seeing that it is less than 1MB in size, downloading the installation file will take but a moment. A setup wizard will show up when you run that file and it will guide you through the installation process. You can install Name Twister on top of Windows XP, Vista, and 7. Please note that you will need the .NET Framework to run Name Twister.

The interface is divided into two sections. The one at the top presents a list of all the files you selected to be renamed. The one at the bottom presents multiple options for renaming those files. It is a very simple layout and that is a nice thing – you will immediately feel at home with the application.

Using Name Twister is a 3-step process that goes something like this:
Step 1 – load the files you want to rename. You can do this by dragging and dropping them onto the application’s window.
Step 2 – tell Name Twister how to rename the files you selected. This means you will have to enter a source/target expression and enable the “Case-sensitive matching, Replace all matches, and Replace '#' with sequence number starting at” options. A preview of what the renamed files will look like will be displayed in the list at the top.
Step 3 – hit the Apply button and the files will be renamed based on your specifications.
